- Sorin Mitel is a Senior Partner and one of the founders of Vilau & Mitel. He graduated from the University of Bucharest in 1997 and was admitted to the Bucharest Bar in the same year. He is an honorary member of the Association of Fellows and Legal Scholars of the Center for International Legal Studies. His practice focuses primarily on mergers & acquisition; PPP, PFI and infrastructure projects; energy, natural resources & utilities, employment & pensions; and real estates & constructions, and he has been involved in a number of major projects in the Romanian market in the last thirteen years. Sorin was a speaker in various conferences and published several articles on PPP, PFI and infrastructure, mergers & acquisition and securities.
- Examples of major recent mandates include: Private equity projects in the consumer finance and mortgage credit fields; sale of a telecom business; Sale of the majority stock owned in a Romanian company that processes credit card operations; Relocation of the back-up office business of a European bank in Romania; Commercialization of the public transportation services in the city of Sibiu and establishment of PPP options; Privatisation of the Romanian helicopter producer; Changes to the PPP legal framework and the specific PPP regulations applicable in the energy and public utilities area.
